Leading Wisely during extraordinary times!
Dear friends and business owners,
I am running for a second term as Commissioner to continue leadership and support to residents and businesses in Davis County. My family has called Davis County home for 26 years, including 4 years of active duty military service at Hill Air Force Base.
For over three years, it has been my privilege to frequent all 15 cities in our county, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and citizens to aid and assist as a full-time public servant.
In three CATEGORIES, thESE ARE our county's challengeS: GROWTH, ECONOMY (INFLATION & HOUSING,) ENVIRONMENT
These are complex challenges. Commissioners convene stakeholders and represent residents to all levels of government. We —-

Commissioner Kamalu organized a monthly digital newsletter to keep our constituents informed of important, helpful, and fun County news. Sign up to receive it on www.Daviscountyutah.gov
Work with city officials in our county to support best practices of local government —as a citizen advocate.
Implement active transportation plans and regional improvements suggested for our county and quality of life.
Continue communication and collaboration with citizens. Lorene’s master’s research project focused on Citizen Engagement. Lorene likes to be accessible.
Partner with the medical/behavioral health community and first responders to combat the opioid epidemic, prevent suicide, advocate for mental illness understanding and treatment in our community.
Carefully scrutinize the annual county budget with best practices of public administration.
Continue to update emergency preparedness procedures for earthquake, wind, water, and other disruptions.
Engage with policymakers to combat drought and the drying of the Great Salt Lake.
Continue local business support and economic development efforts for meaningful employment, city revenue, and the success of our entrepreneurs.
Collaborate with citizens, Human Service agencies, Wasatch Front Regional Council, UDOT, and staff to strengthen and preserve the wonderful character of Davis County. I am the incumbent commissioner who does much Health, Human Services, and Criminal Justice work — with full-time effort and hours.
Please share with me all of your feedback & ideas for Davis County. If you wish to help with campaign expenses, any amount helps. Elections are expensive, and I manage my own campaign. In addition to financial support, your VOTE, volunteer service, and positive word of mouth is valuable to me.
